Rates for drum lessons

• £27 per hour (half hour £16)
• Lessons weekly, fortnightly or monthly
• No ‘upfront’ payments required, fees paid on a relaxed ‘pay as you go’ basis
• Only 24 hours notice of cancellation required (except in the case of illness)

Expert drum tuition in your home

One-to-one tuition delivered at the student’s home is far more productive.

Who can be taught

Through many years of teaching, I have a vast experience of teaching different ages and abilities. This includes teaching students with impaired vision and many other learning difficulties.

What can be learnt

All music genres – Rock, Jazz, Funk, Pop, Latin, snare drumming etc.  I can take you from Beginner Level, through Grade 8 to Diploma and Professional Standard.  I also offer music theory to Grade 8.

The different techniques taught within those genres cover all aspects of drumming:

Reading drum charts; Rudiments both on the snare and as applied to the kit;
co-ordination; independence; improvisation; linear and roll techniques; brush work;
click training; polyrhythms; finger techniques; dynamics; different time signatures etc.

Exams are not necessarily a requirement

Studying the art of drumming should primarily be enjoyable. Undertaking graded examinations is a well constructed method of gauging your progress, but of course some of the world’s greatest drummers have never taken formal exams. It is your decision.
